Je T’aime Paris

My girlfriends and I booked a quick Galentines weekend trip to Paris and it was just as dreamy as I had imagined! This was my first trip to Paris but my other three friends had been before so they planned out our itinerary and it did not disappoint! Our flight landed at 7 am Friday morning - we checked into our adorable 4 bedroom flat. Our flat was in the perfect location - walking distance to most things - super cute, comfortable, and affordable! I’ll link it HERE if you want to check it out and I’ll add some photos below!

For our first day in Paris we immersed ourselves in the city and walked over 10 miles! We started at the Louvre and then went to the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe. While we were by the Eiffel Tower we stopped for lunch at Carette and I had the best hot chocolate I’ve ever had and I still dream about it to this day! Unfortunately, we have hot chocolate all wrong in the US and it is quite disturbing after having it so much in Paris so if you have a sweet tooth like me then it is a must try!

On our second day we toured The Palace of Versailles - you can pre purchase your tickets like we did HERE. We only bought tickets to get into the Palace we didn’t pay for a full audio tour but it was so spectacular to see. This was probably one of my favorite highlights of the trip! The history and stunning intricate detail in every room of this Palace was just insane and breathtaking! I will say it was quite crowded as I’m sure it is most of the time so have some patience especially in the smaller rooms. The amount of photos I took in during this tour was beyond ridiculous so I’ll just share some of my favorites with you all below.

After touring the Palace and the surrounding city we got an Uber back to our flat to relax a little bit before dinner. This was Saturday night so it was one of our main going out nights in our itinerary so we made reservations for dinner at Bonnie weeks before our trip. We had a view of the Eiffel Tower from our dinner table and we were able to see it sparkle (every hour on the hour at night) multiple times! Dinner, drinks and dessert were all extremely delicious! For dinner I had the codd fish and sweet potato puree and for dessert we had the brookie - both were absolutely delicious! After dinner we enjoyed a drink at the bar until the club opened up at 11 and we spent the rest of the night dancing and singing!

On our third day - Sunday we slept in after a long night out and grabbed a quick croissant and latte right outside of our flat and then walked to see the Sacré-Coeur de Montmartre. It was quite a walk/stair climb uphill so be sure to wear some comfy shoes for this outing! Unfortunately, we did get there later in the evening around 1:30 and we did not buy tickets before hand so the line to get in was super long. I’m bummed we didn’t get to see the inside but I would definitely recommend getting tickets before hand if you plan to go and want to see the inside. Luckily there was a young musician with his guitar singing cover songs outside so we sat on the staircase and enjoyed the music and beautiful day we had been blessed with. This relaxing and surprising evening was good for the soul and made my heart so happy! On the walk back we stopped randomly at Le Ventura and I got the apple and goat cheese salad and added chicken on top (came breaded not grilled) and it was probably the best salad I’ve ever had! My friend got the avocado toast and loved it as well - I’ll share a picture of this amazing lunch meal below!

For Sunday night we had booked a Moulin Rogue show at 11pm and it was definitely a must see performance! We had the best time and were blown away by some of the talent. We were not allowed to take photos or film any during the show so I only took a few before hand but I highly recommend going (if you’re with children or are uncomfortable with nudity this may not be the show for you.) You can book dinner reservations and a show but we ate dinner beforehand and just booked the show and had champagne! BOOK HERE.

Monday was our last full day in Paris and we kept it very chill. We grabbed our daily croissants and lattes right outside of our flat and walked to go see the Notre-Dame. Unfortunately, it’s still under a lot of construction due to the fire back in 2019 - hopefully that will be finished by next year 2024. We really enjoyed walking around by the Seine River and viewing all of the storefront’s like the infamous Shakespeare and Company Bookstore. Our last dinner that night was at Papilla and the truffle pizza and pasta were amazing - we LOVE truffle! Our flight was around 11:30 the next morning and let me just say if you don’t have a priority seat and you’re flying with basic economy make sure you give yourself plenty of time to get to your gate. We had priority seating and only gave ourselves 2.5 hours and we just made it to the gate in time. There were a lot of others who were running late so they did hold the flight for them which was really nice. If you purchased any designer bags or pieces be sure to stop by the kiosk in the airport after checking your bags to redeem your tax rebate.

I think that about covers it all! It was hands down one of the best girls trips I’ve ever been on and I still dream about the food and scenery to this day! Please let me know if you have any questions at all in the comments below and if you’re heading to Paris - ENJOY!!

xoxo ashley
