Hey there babes! I wanted to take a second to write about a little something close to my heart today. As the holiday’s grow closer I have found myself fighting the same old everyday, materialistic gift urge. My birthday is also growing closer and my husband keeps asking me what I want and I’ve found it very hard to find an answer for him. We have been through many different ups and downs this past year as I’m sure many of you have too. With the year coming to an end I keep thinking more and more about what Christmas and the holidays are all about. Yes, I could easily send my husband a list of materialistic items for him to go out and buy, but honestly that could not be further from what I want or need in my life right now. Granted, when children come into the picture, I’m sure that list will be full of toys for them! And no… I’m not pregnant… calm down Mother!

With that being said, I’m going to be real with everyone and say that what I feel like I need, along with most of society right now, is a breath of fresh air, an eye opener and most of all, to be humbled. I will be the first to admit that it is so hard not to get wrapped up in the materialistic wants and needs of everyday life. However, when it comes down to it – money can’t buy happiness and my happiness is out in nature exploring the world with this hunk of a hubby by my side! I mean just look at at those arms (insert heart eye emoji).

I spoke with one of my best friends today about all of my trials, more like vented to, but hey what are best friends for and she reminded me of the real meaning of Christmas. She just got back from a week in Ecuador where they have no electricity, clean water or even shoes. She said to me “What if you guys did a service instead of material items, for instance serve at a soup kitchen or sponsor a families Christmas dinner or get presents for a child off of a wish tree.” As soon as I heard that I had the biggest smile come across my face, I could not have heard a better response from her. I am so beyond blessed with God, family, friends, a house to live in and shoes on my feet! Okay fine… lot’s of shoes! But sometimes we forget how good we really have it and that there are many people out there who have it worse off than we do.

That’s why I’ve partnered with Matchback.org, a giving brand working to promote the self confidence of teens-in-need. With their “Buy One, We Give One” model – for every apparel bundle sold, they donate an apparel bundle to an underprivileged teen. Each month they collaborate with a new organization to design a new shirt + hat bundle but their signature collection is “Look Good, Feel Good, Do Good!” To be completely honest with you when this company reached out to me about a month ago, I thought oh well they have pretty cool apparel and it’s for a good cause so yeah why not! But after the past few weeks I have a new found appreciation for organizations, big and small, who commit all of their time and raise funds for anyone in need all year long, not just during the holiday season! That is what we, as a society, should be doing is helping each other and building each other up. Not constantly trying to compare and compete with one another with who can have the best of the best. Because let’s be honest, no matter what we perceive on the outside, everyone has their own internal struggles and tribulations.

With all of that being said I hope you all can go out this holiday season and spread a little bit of joy to one another whether it be a gift, a meal or even just a smile. It’s the little things in life that really matter and can create change in the world as we know it. I hope this touched your heart even just a little as much as it has been weighing on mine. I am so thankful for all of your constant love and support!

XOXO

Women’s Dark Sandalwood & Slate Watch (My Watch) // Mens Walnut & Black Watch (Husbands Watch) // Plaid Blanket Scarf

Looking for the perfect gift for friends, family or your significant other this holiday season!? Look no further – these amazing wood watches by Jord are the perfect gift for everyone. I have partnered with them to bring you 25% off today until my birthday on December 19th!! My husband and I both ordered one and they are great quality at a reasonable price. I ordered the Women’s Dark Sandalwood & Slate Watch and my husband ordered the Men’s Walnut & Black Watch. Since both watches are a dark wood stain and compliment each other well we decided to do a family photo shoot and try to get some pictures for the Holidays! I may be a little biased but I am OBSESSED with the pictures we got and these watches! Do you have any idea how hard it is to get one decent picture of the two of us and four high strung, crazy dogs!? Let’s just say I could do a whole new blog post of all the blooper pictures before the one decent one.

A little bit about Jord.com – they are a quality, hand-crafted wood company based out of St. Louis, Missouri. Their motto is “Telling more than time – The value of a watch is not in being able to tell how much time has passed, but in being aware of the need to make that time count.” I love this quote and how it especially applies to family and the holiday season. If you’re looking for woman’s watch but think the face of the one I’m wearing is a little too big for you, don’t worry, they have the exact same watches with smaller faces. The women’s smaller face watches are called the Frankie 35 series. Another reason I love this company is because they allow you to customize your orders. You can pay a little extra to engrave the back of the watch, engrave the box or order your exact size prior to shipping.

I paired this outfit with one of my all time favorite Goodnight Macaroon Fanny Plaid Blanket Scarf. The colors of this scarf are my favorite and compliment the dark wood of the watches and crisp fall colored leaves in the background. Also, in case any of you were wondering my nail color is Angora Cardi by Essie. But Ya’ll lets take a second to talk about how handsome my hubby and our 4 dogs are! They are the light of my life and I love them all more than words can express. I hope you all enjoy these adorable photos and don’t forget to order your watch today with the 25% off coupon code! Time for me to go make our Christmas cards!

It also has adjustable straps and an invisible zipper up the back for practical yet comfortable support. This is the perfect maxi for making a statement at your next event! Lastly, I styled this dress with a beautiful Fall bouquet that was only $5.99 at Trader Joe’s and is now my center piece on my dining table! I hope you ladies enjoy this look and have fun shopping!

Burnout Velvet Kimono // Faux Suede Thick Heeled Sandal // Destroyed American Eagle Jeans // Blush Tank Option //

This Burnout Velvet Kimono is one of my favorite fall pieces and it is less than $50! Plum color velvet is so sophisticated yet flirty! I paired this kimono with a blush layered tank from target which unfortunately is sold out but I’ve linked a few other options for you below. I also paired it with a pair of dark distressed American Eagle Skinny Jeans.

I love this outfit because you can dress it up for a date night or night out on the town with the girls but you can also dress it down with some flat sandals for more comfort. You can also throw this kimono on over a simple dress or shorts and a top. It’s versatility and flowing movement makes this staple piece totally worth the $49!

I hope you guys had an amazing and wonderful weekend! So sad tomorrow is Monday but hey it’s a new week with new goals to accomplish!

XOXO
