Birthday Vacay to Costa D’Este Resort & Spa

Robert and I just returned from a mini relaxing getaway for my 28th birthday at Costa d’Este Beach Resort & Spa in Vero Beach, Florida. Vero beach is located only two hours away from where we live so it was a perfect little vacation. Since my birthday landed on a Wednesday this year we arrived at Costa d’Este on Tuesday and left on Thursday which happened to be Robert’s three days off that week as well. Everything was planned out perfectly! We arrived around 4 pm on Tuesday evening and thats when the fun began!

Before I get into all the fun events that happened on our little mini staycation I want to show you guys the amazing discount Costa d’Este has given me to give to all of you!! They created a special offer for my followers to be able to experience the amazing stay we had at a super reasonable price! Now back to the good stuff! Upon arrival Tuesday night we were greeted with bubbly while we checked in and they had cute birthday balloons and cupcakes waiting in our room for me! I will go ahead and state that every single person from the hotel staff was so nice and friendly! We got up to our room just in time to watch the sunset on the beach from our balcony view and it was such a gorgeous night. Afterwards, we went down to dinner at The Wave Kitchen & Bar located in the resort for a wine pairing dinner. Here is a picture the of the menu we had for dinner on Tuesday night with a different glass of wine for every meal! The food and wine were absolutely to die for!

IMG_5135.jpgIMG_5646IMG_5171Wednesday: It’s my Birthday!! I don’t ever go all out on my birthdays besides dinners or small quaint get togethers so waking up at Costa d’Este was a treat to say the least! The weather started out gorgeous and the view was still just as breathtaking as when I first saw it. We enjoyed a nice breakfast downstairs and then Robert and I had a 50 minute couples massage at the Spa at Costa d’Este. Robert got the deep tissue massage of course and my poor masseuse was so amazing and definitely knew what she was doing but boy did I have some kinks to work out in my shoulders! She was smaller than me but she had super strong hands and worked out all of my knots and tension. Afterwards they came out and she said to me “you had a ton of tension in your shoulders, do you work at a computer all day everyday!?” Robert was like haha why yes she does! And since he is a cop she recommended we both get massages once a month until we can learn to destress some and stretch more often. Hey – I can’t complain about that! Doctors orders (insert cry laughing face emoji here.)

After our amazing massages we walked around the little town and boutiques for a bit and then went down to the pool to relax for a few hours before dinner. It was a little windy at later that evening while we were at the pool but we still had the best time! We both ordered some super fresh handmade mojitos and when I say handmade I mean it! From fresh basil to freshly squeezed lime juice and their homemade simple syrup. After relaxing poolside we went back up to the room to watch the sunset and get ready for dinner.

For my birthday dinner we were treated with a whistlepig whiskey tasting. We had both of our dinners scheduled for 7 pm both nights and it was the perfect timing. Robert and I had never tasted whistlepig whiskey but after that dinner I can honestly say I think were professionals now. From the smokey flavored whiskey to the spicy and traditional – we had it all that night! It’s crazy how one piece of ice or a saturated cherry can change the total taste of the whiskey all together. Oh did I forget to mention that after dinner both nights we went into the hot tub!? (closes at 11) The first night we struck up conversation with some people from Austin, TX and the second night on my birthday it was just us. Talk about the most romantic ending to the evening listening to the waves crash in the distance.

On Thursday we woke up and had breakfast and then checked out of our room at 11. (ALL THE SAD TEARS) In conclusion, we had the absolute best stay at Costa d’Este and I would highly recommend you all going! The hotel is only 10 years old but has a super miami vice 70’s feel to it. The rooms are beyond stunning and they resemble a cruise ship room but obviously way nicer. I received such amazing feedback from you all on all of my insta stories I posted while at our stay so I hope you all thoroughly enjoy this blog post!

Hey there babes! I wanted to take a second to write about a little something close to my heart today. As the holiday’s grow closer I have found myself fighting the same old everyday, materialistic gift urge. My birthday is also growing closer and my husband keeps asking me what I want and I’ve found it very hard to find an answer for him. We have been through many different ups and downs this past year as I’m sure many of you have too. With the year coming to an end I keep thinking more and more about what Christmas and the holidays are all about. Yes, I could easily send my husband a list of materialistic items for him to go out and buy, but honestly that could not be further from what I want or need in my life right now. Granted, when children come into the picture, I’m sure that list will be full of toys for them! And no… I’m not pregnant… calm down Mother!

With that being said, I’m going to be real with everyone and say that what I feel like I need, along with most of society right now, is a breath of fresh air, an eye opener and most of all, to be humbled. I will be the first to admit that it is so hard not to get wrapped up in the materialistic wants and needs of everyday life. However, when it comes down to it – money can’t buy happiness and my happiness is out in nature exploring the world with this hunk of a hubby by my side! I mean just look at at those arms (insert heart eye emoji).

I spoke with one of my best friends today about all of my trials, more like vented to, but hey what are best friends for and she reminded me of the real meaning of Christmas. She just got back from a week in Ecuador where they have no electricity, clean water or even shoes. She said to me “What if you guys did a service instead of material items, for instance serve at a soup kitchen or sponsor a families Christmas dinner or get presents for a child off of a wish tree.” As soon as I heard that I had the biggest smile come across my face, I could not have heard a better response from her. I am so beyond blessed with God, family, friends, a house to live in and shoes on my feet! Okay fine… lot’s of shoes! But sometimes we forget how good we really have it and that there are many people out there who have it worse off than we do.

That’s why I’ve partnered with Matchback.org, a giving brand working to promote the self confidence of teens-in-need. With their “Buy One, We Give One” model – for every apparel bundle sold, they donate an apparel bundle to an underprivileged teen. Each month they collaborate with a new organization to design a new shirt + hat bundle but their signature collection is “Look Good, Feel Good, Do Good!” To be completely honest with you when this company reached out to me about a month ago, I thought oh well they have pretty cool apparel and it’s for a good cause so yeah why not! But after the past few weeks I have a new found appreciation for organizations, big and small, who commit all of their time and raise funds for anyone in need all year long, not just during the holiday season! That is what we, as a society, should be doing is helping each other and building each other up. Not constantly trying to compare and compete with one another with who can have the best of the best. Because let’s be honest, no matter what we perceive on the outside, everyone has their own internal struggles and tribulations.

With all of that being said I hope you all can go out this holiday season and spread a little bit of joy to one another whether it be a gift, a meal or even just a smile. It’s the little things in life that really matter and can create change in the world as we know it. I hope this touched your heart even just a little as much as it has been weighing on mine. I am so thankful for all of your constant love and support!

XOXO
